Puerto Vallarta

The location of the Secrets Vallarta Bay Resort is about 5-10 minutes from Downtown Puerto Vallarta, in the state of Jalisco [the land of tequila…need we say more?!]

 

Puerto Vallarta is a Mexican balneario resort city situated off the Pacific Ocean coast and makes up part of Bahía de Banderas. City limits encompass 1,300 square km of seaside and lush tropical land, nestled between the Sierra Madre jungle mountain range and the world’s seventh largest bay. Just a quick [few hour] flight from most major cities in the US, this gorgeous Mexican beach resort has become one of the most sought after vacation destinations in North America. Puerto Vallarta is on the same latitude as Hawaii and joys in nearly perfect weather.

 

Around the bay, beautiful beaches, lush jungles and sparkling waterfalls offer many opportunities for the adventurous, while five star resorts, world-class shopping and gourmet restaurants satisfy even the most sophisticated traveler. Stretching from the south end of Old Town to central downtown, a newly extended and refurbished boardwalk promenade along the ocean, called the Malecon, passes by a number of shops, restaurants, and hotels, and often plays host to mimes, break dancers, clowns and sand sculpture artists.
